Every day use of Artificial Intelligence
with Two Presenters
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we live, work, and communicate. This course explores AI, explaining how it works and how to use popular AI tools safely and confidently. Participants will explore everyday applications, the impact of AI on jobs and careers, environmental considerations, privacy and security concerns, ethics, misinformation, and the future of AI. There will be hands-on demonstrations and practical examples, and students will gain the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, recognizing the opportunities and the limitations of AI.

Brooke Georgiton is certified through AIxRE to teach and train others on AI. She is passionate about this technology and making it approachable to everyone, drawing on her years as an educator and a local realtor.
Daniel B. Gingerich is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering and Integrated Systems Engineering and a core faculty member of the Sustainability Institute. His research focuses on support transitions to more sustainable and resilient energy and water infrastructure systems. This includes everything from understanding large-scale changes in the use of water and electricity driven by new demands like data centers and electrification to improving facility-level changes in water treatment. Before coming to Ohio State in January 2020, he was a Oak Ridge Institute for Science Education post-doctoral research fellow at the National Energy Technology Laboratory and a post-doctoral research associate at Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Gingerich earned his Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
